The Excise (Amendment) Act, No. 4 of 2018 shall come into operation with effective on April 1, 2018.

Section 15 of the Excise Ordinance (Chapter 52) is hereby amended by the repeal of paragraphs (b) and (c) of
that section;
“(b) no tree producing toddy, other than kithul tree shall be tapped;
(c) no toddy shall be drawn or lowered from any tree other than the kithul tree.”.
