Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has introduced an Online Tax Payment Platform (OTPP) with effect from 08.02.2020, in addition to the existing tax payment methods to make tax payment with the collaboration of below mentioned banks.
In addition to the banks initially interfaced with IRD for this purpose, People’s Bank also provide OTPP facility and in future this facility will be extended by connecting all banks to give an efficient service to taxpayers.
Currently the following banks are providing online banking facility under OTPP,
- National Savings Bank (NSB)
- Sampath Bank PLC
- National Development Bank (NDB)
- Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC
- People’s Bank
The respective banks will provide relevant information for the tax payment that are required to make the online tax payment. Please log into the IRD web Portal for user guide for the use this facility. (e-Services/Overview and Quick Guides/Payments and Refunds)
The tax payment made through OTPP will be credited to Commissioner General’s Account in real-time as a tax payment and the taxpayer will receive a SMS to mobile number updated in the RAMIS system.
